The gaze-driven camera improves the wide angle picture of the scene camera with a sharp image of the observed detail. The EyeSeeCam is in fact a full featured binocular 3D Video Occulo-Graphy system with a high spatial and temporal resolution. The system is very lightweight and designed so that it can be totally mobile and remote controlled via Wireless LAN. External analog and digital signals can be connected to synchronize and capture experimental data and a database system enables you to organize your VOG experiments.The process through which you can benefit from this experience is a rather complicated one. Thus, the gaze-driven head-mounted camera aligns continuously with the users' orientation of gaze. Lenovo Announces Four New Models

LENOVO has announced the birth of four new models, three in its Ideapad lkaptop range, and a new all-in-one Ideacentre desktop which the company reckons will be one of the thinnest desktop computers available. The A600 will have a 21.5-inch frameless screen and will be less than an inch thick "at it's thinnest point" according to Leneovo. Most of the staff here at the Inquirer are less than an inch thick at our thinnest points, and most of us spend our days sat in front of a computer monitor eating pizza and drinking sugary energy drinks... you get the picture. Regardless of its heft, or lack of it, the A600 will treat your peepers to 1920 x 1080 hi def visuals, comes with a BluRay option and arrives complete with a remote control and a motion sensitive game controller all for a smidgen under $1000. The $1200 Y650 laptop has a 16-inch screen and weighs less than many 15-inchers according to the maker. The $830 Y550 has a 15.6-inch screen and the as-yet-unpriced Y450 is a 14-incher. An aussie bloke is making a fortune fixing broken Iphones for panicking fanboys who need a 24 hour Apple fix. Rob Jacobs set up his iDoctor service when he started to notice how jittery Apple fanboys got when their phones broke down. It seems that they have to face the dual psychological problem that they are without a phone and the fact they believed that the phone cannot break down because Steve Jobs told them so. But, as we have said in the past, the Iphone does break down and as a result Jacobs has 670 regular patients. He said the fanboys he deals with can't be without their Iphones for five minutes and he gets calls after 10 o'clock at night and punters waiting outside his door at 6.30am in tears saying 'Please fix my phone.' They are also discovering that they are tied to phone contracts in which service providers would not replace their phones once damaged. Clearly since Steve gave his blessing to these lock-in deals they wrongly assumed that they were good for their health, rather than Steve's bank balance.

New JVC HDTV Is Only 7mm Thick

JVC is making an early play for the world's thinnest television headlines by announcing a 32-inch HDTV prototype that's 7mm thick and weighs barely 5Kg, but Samsung already looks set to steal its thunder at CES. Compare that to the average 32-incher you might have in your living room. The Panasonic TX-32LZD81, for example, is 22.5mm-thick and tips the scales at 18Kg.The superbly slim 1080p TV also uses 50 per cent less material resources to manufacture, says JVC. While a new LED-based optical system means that there's absolutely no compromise on optical clarity or vibrancy.

Twitter Users Angry Over Ad Service

Social Networking Twitter has been targeted by Be-A-Magpie, an advertising network which will pay users to insert ads or "magpie tweets" into their message streams. Twitter users, who post short text messages to each other online, will be paid according to the number of people who view the adverts. Be-A-Magpie, who are based in the UK, say that users have to "pile up £50 before you can cash out. Once you've reached that amount, you can transfer the money to your PayPal account". Twitter has enjoyed an explosive rate of growth in the last year, with the registered number of users now topping six million, a 600 per cent increase in just 12 months. Last month there were reports that Facebook had failed in an attempt to buy Twitter for $500 million in stock. But Twitter users have attacked proposals to insert advertising messages into tweet streams. Parents are turning to Facebook and other social networks to follow their kids after they have left for university. A survey discovered the unsavoury fact that up to three quarters of parents are 'friending' their kids in order to keep in touch with their children's lives, as well as turning to text and Skype.
